Electing a True Conservative Majority In The House

A "Failures of Conservatism Conference?" Seriously?

From the Campaign for America's Future description of the event:

"The failures of the Bush administration -- from Katrina to Iraq -- are more than a matter of incompetence. They are a matter of ideology. At the root of the administration’s abysmal performance is a set of conservative beliefs at the heart of its decision-making. Conservatism has failed, and will continue to fail, because it has a wrong view of how the world works. (Their emphasis)

At the Failure of Conservatism Conference -- May 3, in Washington, DC -- some of the progressive movement's leading thinkers will show why conservatism cannot be made better by competent leadership; competent conservatism, in fact, would be an even worse deal for the American people. Advancing that argument effectively is essential to reshaping the political debate and taking advantage of the new opportunities for progressive change."

The only positive note in what is likely to be a day of shrill self-congratulation and calls for liberals of all stripes to band together to hold onto their fragile majority in Congress is their lunchtime entertain
