This article, which ran in today's edition of Congressional Quarterly's CQpolitics.com, is a great overview of what Congressman Pat Toomey and the Club for Growth are doing to help elect solid fiscal conservatives to Congress this year. Needless to say, we appreciate the fact that a group like the Club exists: Like us, they identify and support top-notch conservative candidates in races where it will make a real difference.

And although they choose to get involved in primaries against incumbent Republicans in Congress (a practice the House Conservatives Fund does not engage in), their endorsements can often give great insight into the fiscal issues that shape a primary.

Congressman Toomey has done a great job of giving the Club for Growth a new and more-focused direction, and the Club's results this cycle reflect that. Like us, they backed successful primary candidates Jim Jordan (OH-4), Adrian Smith (NE-3) and Bill Sali (ID-1). These are all big wins for conservatives, as the candidates are in solidly Republican districts.
