Today FRC Action, the legislative advocacy arm of the Family Research Council, endorsed
Congressman Steve Pearce for Senate representing the state of New Mexico.

"Congressman Steve Pearce has shown himself to be a loyal friend of the family," said David Nammo, Executive Director of FRC Action. "He won our True Blue Award four times and has a lifetime rating of 98% with us."

Congressman Pearce voted against federally funding embryonic stem cell research or organizations that promote or practice abortions at home or abroad. He also voted against legislation that would alter the definition of human cloning so as to permit the cloning of human embryos. He sponsored legislation protecting parental rights and had the courage to protect the family of Terri Schiavo by voting to extend standing to her family before
the Federal District Court in Florida.

On fiscal issues Congressman Pearce also demonstrated that he is friendly to the family's pocketbook by earning a score of 79% from the National Taxpayer's Union, a B+ rating.

"With these votes, as well as others, Congressman Pearce demonstrated his dedication to preserving and protecting faith, family and freedom. Because of this, it is without hesitation that we endorse Steve Pearce for Senate," concluded Nammo.
