HCF Executive Director Mike Bober Dubbed "Rising Star" by Politics MagazineThe House Conservatives Fund announced on Friday that its Executive Director Mike Bober is one of ten Republicans to be honored this year as Campaigns & Elections unveiled their annual list of "Rising Stars" in this month's issue of Politics magazine. Described as "one of the most prestigious honors in politics," the award goes to people 35 or under who have already made a significant mark in political consulting or advocacy. This year's nominations yielded a significantly expanded pool of several hundred candidates. "The number of nominations this year was three times higher than last year," said Politics Editor-in-Chief Bill Beaman. "It has never been harder to select our Rising Stars, especially given the impressive pool of nominees." Described in the magazine as a "one-man juggernaut," Bober was selected because of the impressive successes he has racked up in his two years with the House Conservatives Fund: * Raising more than $500,000 from individuals and PACs in 2007; * A three-fold increase in the number of individual donors supporting the HCF across the country; * An impressive 10-of-14 win rate among open seat races in 2006, including a 5-of-6 record in contested primaries; * Creating some of the most talked-about fundraising events in Washington, including our annual "Rock, Ribs and Republicans" reception featuring barbecue specialties flown in from across the country "Mike Bober deserves a lot of credit for helping to make the House Conservatives Fund one of the premiere sources of support for true-blue conservative candidates," said honorary chairman Tom Feeney. "He has an exhaustive knowledge of the current political landscape, and his recommendations are usually spot-on. We're definitely stronger for Mike's efforts, and I'm pleased that Politics magazine has confirmed what I've been saying all along." The "Rising Stars" award is given to only twenty-five people each year, divided among ten Republicans, ten Democrats and five individuals whose work is bi-partisan, non-partisan or international in nature. The full list of this year's recipients is found in the June issue of Politics magazine or online at http://www.campaignline.com.  The House Conservatives Fund is a non-connected federal PAC which supports Republican candidates and incumbents who demonstrate a commitment to economic and socially conservative issues. HCF advocates fiscal responsibility, limited government intrusion into the private sector, strong defense, and traditional family values. For more information about the House Conservatives Fund, please visit www.houseconservatives.com or contact us at (202) 441-1236.
