First Challenger & Open Seat Endorsements

Next week, voters in North Carolina and Indiana will be heading to the polls for the Republican primary. The House Conservatives Fund has endorsed three rock-solid conservative candidates on the ballot during Tuesday’s primary:
David McIntosh is running in Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, where Congressman Dan Burton is retiring at the end of this term. McIntosh got his start in politics as an advisor to President Ronald Regan. As the only true conservative in the race, he’s received endorsements from the National Right to Life Committee and the NRA. During his political career, McIntosh has never voted for a tax increase and has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. Click here to visit his campaign website.
Richard Hudson is seeking the Republican nomination to take on Democrat Congressman Larry Kissell (NC-8) in the Fall. Hudson is a small businessman and prides himself on being 100% pro-life, a defender of traditional marriage, and an active outdoorsmen committed to protecting second amendment rights. In Washington, he’ll be committed to cutting spending and repealing Obamacare. Click here to visit his campaign website.
David Rouzer hopes to represent North Carolina’s new 7th Congressional District. Currently, Rouzer is serving in his second term in the North Carolina Senate and currently faces a Wall Street insider in the primary. Having grown up on his family’s farm, Rouzer understands the importance of getting government off the backs of small businesses and farmers alike. He’s also a Christian conservative, so we know he’ll fight for our values in Washington. Click here to visit his campaign website.

House Conservatives are drawing attention to President Obama's failed stimulus and broken promises about getting America back to work.
Recently, Fox News highlighted a chart being circulated by conservative Republicans in the House that illustrates just how poorly the Obama Administration has addressed our jobs crisis.

Here's a look at the responses to our recent House Conservatives Fund interest survey. We had a tremendous level of interest.
So, what was the most important issue to HCF supporters going into 2012? 49.7% of you said the economy was your primary focus in deciding who you will vote for in 2012. Balancing the budget represents a distant second at 16.9%. Here's a look at the full breakdown:
Next, we asked you about the presidential contest. Newt Gingrich (32.8%) and Herman Cain (30.8%) were the top picks there.
Finally, on the issue of a Vice Presidential nominee, 31.5% had a pick who wasn't on our list -- with a number of votes going to Jesse Ventura and our own Allen West. Of the candidates we listed, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida led the pack (26.5%).
Thanks for taking the time to let us know your thoughts on the important issues of 2012. We're going to use this information as we prepare our agenda for the coming year.
Unemployment Stuck at 9.1%

You've probably heard about September's dismal jobs numbers -- the percentage of Americans without work is stuck at 9.1%. The Administration is claiming that 103,000 jobs were added last month, but did you know that number includes 45,000 Verizon workers who went on strike in August but returned to work in September? Coupled with their inability to inspire confidence in American businesses, the Democrats' willingness to fudge the numbers is yet one more sign of their failed approach to restarting the economy -- and it's not going unnoticed by conservative Republicans in Congress and across America. Poll: More blame President Obama for economy

The President has ignored dozens of proposals from House conservatives to get the economy back on track. Well here's a poll he can't ignore:
According to the USA Today/Gallup survey, 24 percent of Americans say Obama deserves “a great deal of blame” for the state of the economy – a 10 point jump since 2009. A majority of Americans, including six out of 10 independents, think the president deserves “a great deal or moderate” amount of blame. The poll also finds the public’s pessimism about the economy is growing deeper – 8 out of 10 say the the country is in a recession, and a similar number of people think it hasn’t improved in the last year.
Surprise: Solyndra execs to take the Fifth at congressional hearings next week

House Conservatives Fund members Mike Pompeo, Adam Kinzinger, Cory Gardner, and David McKinley have joined the rest of their colleagues on the House Energy and Commerce Committee in calling for executives of Solyndra to explain themselves to the American people. But in the kind of transparency we've come to expect from the current Administration and their friends, Solyndra's CEO and CFO will be pleading the Fifth:
Solyndra LLC’s chief executive and chief financial officer will invoke their Fifth Amendment rights and decline to answer any questions put to them at a Congressional hearing on Friday, according to letters from their attorneys obtained by Reuters. In the letters sent to the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, attorneys for Solyndra CEO Brian Harrison and CFO W. G. Stover said they advised their clients not to provide testimony during the hearings.Read the full story over at Hot Air.
Rep. Paul Ryan's Budget Passes

Great news! Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan’s landmark budget proposal. This budget is both audacious and responsible. It slashes $4 trillion in government spending while saving Medicare. It completely defunds Obamacare and puts America back on the path to a balanced budget. It will save our economy.
Thank you for all you have done to help elect good, principled conservatives to Congress. Today’s vote could not have been possible without you. However, our work is still not done. Not even close. Now the budget battle switches over to the U.S. Senate. Please call your U.S. Senators right away at (202) 225-3121 and urge them to back the House’s budget plan.
