Lalor Endorsed by Monroe and Port Jervis GOP CommitteesEast Fishkill, NY/May 13, 2008 - Kieran Michael Lalor continues to gather support among the Republican base, receiving endorsements from the town GOP committees in Monroe and Port Jervis. The two town committees are the first to make official endorsements in the race for the 19th Congressional District nomination. "The endorsements show our widespread support and the success of our five-county plan to beat John Hall. Port Jervis is the far western point of the district and Monroe is the largest town in the district's largest county. Orange County is going to play a decisive role in this election and the Republican candidate needs to work hard to earn its votes," said Lalor. The Port Jervis Republicans unanimously voted to support Lalor and the Monroe Republican Committee was near unanimous in its endorsement. Lalor has seen overwhelming support among the rank and file Republicans in town committees. As town committees take straw polls in anticipation of the May 22 nominating convention, Lalor has continually won super majorities. "We need to energize the Republican base. John Hall won in large part because Republicans stayed home in 2006," said Lalor. "Many Hudson Valley Republicans became disaffected with Washington. I'm pleased to see that we're already making strides in exciting that base. I hope to give them a candidate they can be excited and proud to vote for."
