Today on www.townhall.com, Mike Bober has written a brief column discussing the various positive results that conservatives can take away from the elections. Without ignoring our painful losses or the message we need to hear loud and clear from voters, we can still celebrate the arrival of a class of freshmen who will be dedicated to promoting conservative principles and opposing Democrats' efforts to undo the Contract with America. And we can hope that the Democrats who were elected on platforms that sound very similar to those of conservatives will continue to hold firm on key issues instead of caving to the pressures of their more liberal leadership.

In any event, we need to use our time in the wilderness to re-evaluate what it means to be a Republican and how we communicate that to voters. If we can do that successfully, this year's losses will become 2008's gains.
