Conservatives Top NTU's Rating ListFriday, February 23, 2007 House Conservatives Fund "Friend of the Taxpayer" It's a label that all Members of Congress should aspire to earn, but few actually achieve it from year to year. The National Taxpayers' Union considers every roll call vote that impacts the American taxpayer, and their ratings reflect how any given Member does. Sadly, the average score in the House this year was a dismal 39%, and the average among Republicans was only 60%. To see the complete results, please visit the NTU website. So who were the best of the best? Congressman Jeff Flake - 92% (For the record, a score over 72% is rated as an A and qualifies for the Friend of the Taxpayer award - quite a few additional conservatives met that threshold!) We need more Members who are willing to stand up for taxpayers - there are sure to be plenty of rated votes under the Democrats' regime as they seek to grow the size of the federal government at taxpayers' expense.
