"A strong voice for Constitutional government and a champion for Georgia's citizens."

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Conservatives Fund (HCF) hosted a lunch for Congressman Paul Broun last Thursday, formally announcing their endorsement of the Congressman's bid for re-election and helping to launch his Washington fundraising efforts. Seven Members of Congress came together to show their support for Georgia's newest Congressman, who drew primary opposition soon after winning July's special election to succeed Congressman Charlie Norwood in Georgia's 10th Congressional District.

"Paul Broun has wasted no time establishing himself as a strong voice for Constitutional government and a champion for Georgia's citizens," said Congressman Tom Feeney, HCF Chairman. "His commitment to limiting the size and scope of our overreaching federal government is especially important as Democrats continue to push for more spending, higher taxes and expanded federal programs with no regard to their cost or the impact on taxpayers. The House Conservatives Fund is proud to support Paul Broun in his first re-election campaign."

Joining Congressman Feeney at a lunch in honor of Broun were Congressmen Phil Gingrey, Joe Wilson, Todd Akin, Jim Jordan, Doug Lamborn, and Adrian Smith. Each Member commended Dr. Broun for quickly engaging himself in the conservative Republican Study Committee and Republican efforts to curtail Democrat excesses. Several also offered advice on how to prepare for his re-election campaign. Congressman Feeney noted the support of those in attendance, saying "It's a testament to how well you've done in just four months that we could get this many Members around the table for today's lunch."

Congressman Broun was elected to Congress in July following the death of Congressman Charlie Norwood, running on a platform of strict fiscal discipline and unwavering conservative principles. Because of the solidly Republican nature of the district, his greatest challenge to re-election is a primary opponent who announced his intention to run less than a month after the special election. Congressman Broun must now prepare for a contested primary next July, roughly one year after taking office.

The House Conservatives Fund is a non-connected federal PAC which supports Republican candidates and incumbents who demonstrate a commitment to economic and socially conservative issues. HCF advocates fiscal responsibility, limited government intrusion into the private sector, strong defense, and traditional family values.
