House Conservatives Fund Endorses Woody Jenkins in LA-6 SpecialFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE "A terrific opportunity to support an icon of the conservative movement." WASHINGTON, DC - In the final days of the race to succeed Congressman Richard Baker in Louisiana's Sixth Congressional District, the House Conservatives Fund (HCF) today announced their support for former State Representative Woody Jenkins. His long history of conservative leadership on the state and national levels distinguishes him from his competitors in Saturday's Republican primary and his positions in the current election indicate a commitment to returning transparency and fiscal restraint to Congress. "The candidates for Louisiana's Sixth Congressional District offer voters a clear choice," said Congressman Tom Feeney, HCF Chairman. "In Woody Jenkins, you have a proven conservative leader with experience in elected office. This is a terrific opportunity to support an icon of the conservative movement, and we're happy to be able to do it." Of particular interest to the House Conservatives fund was Jenkins' commitment to removing the political maneuvering from the allocation of federal funds for infrastructure projects, as well as his pledge to oppose any and all tax increases. His history of support for life and the right to bear arms is well-documented, and he played a key role in the creation of Louisiana's Declaration of Rights. "None of the other candidates in this race offer the combination of commitment to conservative principles and knowledge of the legislative process that Woody Jenkins does," continued Feeney. "His decades of experience will be a welcome addition to our conservative ranks here in Washington, and I look forward to serving with him." The House Conservatives Fund is a non-connected federal PAC which supports Republican candidates and incumbents who demonstrate a commitment to economic and socially conservative issues. HCF advocates fiscal responsibility, limited government intrusion into the private sector, strong defense, and traditional family values.
