House Conservatives Fund Reports $312,000 Raised in First Six MonthsFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contributions from 4,969 Individuals Help HCF Raise More in Six Months Than in All of 2005 WASHINGTON, DC - The House Conservatives Fund (HCF) filed its first report of the 2008 election cycle with the Federal Election Commission yesterday and it was good news for conservatives. In the first six months of the year, HCF has raised more than $312,000, a figure that exceeds their total money raised for the entirety of 2005. As a further indication of the Fund's success, Executive Director Mike Bober pointed to the number of individual donors who had given to the fund since the beginning of the year. "We have received contributions from almost 5,000 individuals across the country," he said with pride. "These are Republicans who want to see our party represented by true conservatives." Honorary Chairman Tom Feeney sees a clear message in the House Conservatives Fund's results: "This confirms what we've known all along - grassroots Republicans are eager to support candidates and organizations that have held true to our party's Ronald Reagan roots." He went on to say, "We will use this support to continue to identify and help fiscally and socially conservative Republicans in House races nationwide." HCF has already made its first endorsement of the 2008 elections, supporting Congressman Jim Ryun's bid to retake his former seat in Kansas' 2nd Congressional District. They plan to be active in many of the districts taken by Democrats in November's elections, as well as races that may open up due to retirements and a number of seats where Democrat incumbents hold districts that were carried by the President in 2004. The House Conservatives Fund is a non-connected federal PAC which supports Republican candidates and incumbents who demonstrate a commitment to economic and socially conservative issues. HCF advocates fiscal responsibility, limited government intrusion into the private sector, strong defense, and traditional family values.
