"A proven conservative to represent a conservative district."

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Conservatives Fund today announced its first endorsement of the 2008 election cycle, offering its support to Congressman Jim Ryun in his rematch against Nancy Boyda.

During his five terms in Congress, Ryun was a staunch advocate of fiscal restraint and a tireless champion of pro-family issues. As a member of the conservative Republican Study Committee, he could often be seen speaking out against wasteful spending, in favor of tax relief, and in support of veterans and reservists.

"There can be no doubt that Jim Ryun is a proven conservative," said House Conservatives Fund Chairman Tom Feeney. "And it just makes sense to elect a proven conservative to represent a conservative district. We have the utmost confidence in Jim's ability to win against an opponent he has already beaten in the past. He will run an aggressive campaign to remind voters of why he's the right person to represent them in Washington."

Feeney went on to praise Ryun's accomplishments while in Congress. "Jim Ryun was instrumental in securing the $1,000 child tax credit that benefits families of all income levels. He fought to defend and support locally-based businesses, and he worked hard to improve the transportation infrastructure throughout the district - all while maintaining his commitment to fiscal discipline and limited intrusion by the federal government into the average American's life and livelihood."

This endorsement, coming more than fourteen months before the Republican primary, indicates the firm belief of the House Conservatives Fund that Jim Ryun remains the best person to represent the values and the needs of the citizens of Kansas' Second Congressional District.

The House Conservatives Fund is a non-connected federal PAC which supports Republican candidates and incumbents who demonstrate a commitment to economic and socially conservative issues. HCF advocates fiscal responsibility, limited government intrusion into the private sector, strong defense, and traditional family values.
